Woodworking Resources



Cleveland has a vibrant wood-working community.  Here are a few resources to get you started.  We're happy to make some introductions.

Buyers Kiln This woodworker's paradise has great selection of hard to find woods, all harvested locally by the Amish. Wander through many barns 12' planks to round tree sections, perfect for that coffee table you were planning to make. Hardwoods dried on premises. Up to 4" thick on dimensional lumber. Visit Saturdays by appointment

Keim Lumber 50-acre complex in Charm, Ohio (Holmes County, 90 min south of CLE) Fourth generation Amish family owners, wood working tools, reclaimed lumber, exotic woods, a fun day trip

Soulcraft CLE 18,000 SF woodshop co-working space in MidTown neighborhood of Cleveland; full shop and metal-working tools available to share; or rent a space and keep your own; classes and memberships for shop time.

Woodcraft of Cleveland Nation's oldest and largest supplier of woodworking tools and supplies and offer great classes as well - Cleveland shop is in the southeast suburb of Bedford

West End Lumber Cleveland's oldest lumber yard. Dimensional lumber for projects. Only open until noon on Saturdays.

North Coast Community Woodshop Classes to preserve the skills of woodworking. Shop available to work on personal projects. In Sheffield Lake in Lorain County.

Insiders' Notes:  A 2011 transplant to Cleveland himself, EA alum John Scanlan, the CFO of the Cleveland Municipal School District, found some time outside of work to become a master woodworker.
