Music - Singing Groups



Does someone in your family like to sing?  Here are clubs, choirs and choruses for children and adults. Depending on the time you have there's a spot for you. Many of the groups have a long and melodic history here.

Adults - Cleveland

Largest and most demanding of local choral groups, with 130 members. Auditions are in the spring, must be able to sight read music. Perform with the Cleveland Orchestra and have gone on tour to other cities and countries.

Located in Cleveland's Theater District, The Hermit Club is the Nation's oldest continuously operating private club dedicated to non-professional performing arts. The Hermit Club has a choral group.

All male group, over 100 years old with 50 active singers. Practices are at the Breen Center on the St. Ignatius High School campus near West 25th and Lorain. There are three public performances per year.

This is a nonprofit community choral arts society dedicated to presenting choral masterworks of all kinds.

Founded in 1969, this 85 member chorus holds auditions in August and December (or by arrangement). Performs one public performance each year.

Thirty-member choral group, mixed ensemble from chamber to choral. Lakewood Presbyterian Church.

Adult - Akron

Dedicated to presenting classical choral masterworks

Adult Choral and Gospel Groups

Children - Cleveland 

Travel world-wide to perform, have been to 34 countries. Levels: choir, reserve choir and the Littlest Angels training choir 2nd - 3rd  graders. Opportunity for children to master singing on a stage and choreography skills. Auditions in January.

High school age choir performs with the Cleveland Orchestra Choir and the Orchestra. There is a prep-choir for 5th-8th graders.

Children - Akron

Kodaly philosophy, all ages from beginner to advanced, national award winning.
