Golf Magazine named Ohio #5 out of all 50 states for "golfiness."
They coined this term based on:
Avidness of golfers - percentage of households that play golf in addition to annual rounds per golfer
Quantity and quality of golf courses - total number of courses combined with number of top 100 courses
Legacy and vibe - caliber of state's native players, prestige of tournaments and general "vibe"
Travelin' Joe's Rating - Joe Pasov, Senior Editor at Golf Magazine's opinion based on his play in all 50 states
Despite having the shortest playing season among the top 5 golf states, Ohio ranks high in household participation playing on an array of 300 public and private courses across the state. Ohioan, Jack Nicklaus seems to have shared his passion with everyone!
