From small indoor settings to large open-air venues, there are many locations to check out live music.  Rock and Roll was coined here by DJ Alan Freed in 1951. It's also home to many musicians including: Eric Carmen and The Rasberries, The James Gang, Chrissie Hynde and the Pretenders, The Black Keys, Tracy Chapman, Jim Brickman, The O’Jays, Bone, Thugs and Harmony, Joe Walsh, James Ingram, Machine Gun Kelly, Boz Skaggs, Bobby Womack, Frankie Yankovic and Henry Mancini. 


With such a rich heritage, music is alive and well here. You'll find bands ready to break into the big show, budding musicians in the local scene and the national and international tours.

Bop Stop: The Music Settlement

An intimate, acoustically pristine performance venue focused primarily on jazz music. It has food service, full bar and beautiful views of Lake Erie.

 

Mahall's 20 Lanes

Established in 1924 as a bowling alley and family entertainment venue. Today it has food service, multiple bars, pinball and live music. It also hosts music festivals, weddings and fundraisers on its Main Stage.

 

Brother's Lounge

Blossom Music Center

On 200 rolling acres in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, 30-minutes south of Cleveland. It's the summer home of the Cleveland Orchestra. It has a covered pavilion and a large lawn. There are bar and simple food options on the grounds. In addition to the Orchestra calendar Blossom hosts summer concerts with major artists ranging from country to rock and roll.

 

G.A.R. Hall in Peninsula

The historic G.A.R. Hall is the home of the Peninsula Foundation and Voices in the Valley, a showcase of traditional roots music. A simple menu and full bar are available in this quaint venue and town, 45-minutes south of Cleveland.

The Tangier

Open since 1948, it's Akron’s leading event and entertainment center. It offers a menu with an artistic flair and a full range of off-site catering as well as both local and national music events. The Kent Stage

It began as a silent movie theater in 1927 and was voted best acoustic venue in Northeast Ohio. All-Folked Up is the connected full-service bar which services the stage. There are 150 concerts per year. Stage also hosts a variety of community events like the Kent Folk Festival, Kent Blues Festival, Kent Reggae Fest, Kent Music Festival and film festivals.
