How did Cleveland become known as a foodie town? We’ve always had great diversity of ethnic cuisine and specialty markets catering to adventurous cooks, but when Michael Symon became the winner on the Food Network's Next Iron Chef on season 1, that launched us into the national eye and we’ve never looked back. Here are some of our favorite markets and vendors to find interesting ingredients so you can dream of YOUR appearance on the next episode of Chopped.
Kate’s Fish
High quality, family owned fishmonger at the West Side Market.
K&K Portage
Cleveland. Freshly cut meat, fish and poultry. Also has a deli.
Narrin’s Spices
Family operated stand in the West Side Market. Variety of international foods including spices, herbs, beans, sauces, seasonings.
Old Brooklyn Cheese Company
Award-winning cheese shop, located in Old Brooklyn, produces raw milk cheese and mustard.
Ohio City Provisions
This shop also runs a large CSA program. Features local, organic, pasture-raised foods. Be sure to check out their butcher-amazing variety of meats.
Holyland International Import Market
Middle Eastern, Indian, fresh produce. Great for vegetarian and vegan diets. Incredibly helpful with how to prepare their foods and ingredients.

One of many Indian grocery stores in the area. Offers a full range of ingredients for Indian cooking.

Butcher and meat market with three locations in Cleveland.
Spice Hound
Sells a variety of herbs and spices online and at Coit Road Farmers Market.
Saucisson
This boutique butchery offers everything from hand-cured meats to specially spiced sausages. It sources humanely raised and hormone free meat from local family farms.
